Description
In this theatre class, students will have the opportunity to perform, write, direct, and create collaborative scripts and stories. Skills in improvisation, memorization, and physical realization of a character will be developed in this class. Students should have a willingness to take risks and explore storytelling. They should be good at communicating with others. Depending on the shows that are selected students may learn accents, make-up techniques and learn designing for the theatre. Students will learn the language of theatre arts and the stage direction terms. They will learn about a variety of professions in the theatre. The main objective will be to perform a live performance for an audience which will require that they attend a week of after school rehearsals. The dates and times will be given at the beginning of the school year.
